Energy Independence Load Response Program
On December 28, 2005 as part of the Act Concerning Energy Independence, the Department of Public Utility Control approved a program to help reduce load on the electric system and FMCC charges on your utility bill.
The Energy Independence Load Response Program is designed to reduce load on the electric system through curtailment and emergency response by electric customers. This program incents customers, who agree to and reduce load when needed.
UI will partner with you to enroll your available resources in the program. These resources may include an emergency generator or reducible load such as lighting, air conditioning or manufacturing equipment. You will receive incentive payments for those resources you enroll and respond with. UI will work closely with you to facilitate participation in this program. Your participation is virtually risk free. UI will cover necessary and applicable installation costs for qualifying load and there is no penalty for under-performance.
If you would like to learn more about the exciting new program or to find out how to enroll, call the Energy Independence Info Line at 203.499.3484 or email Roddy Diotalevi.
