On recent a June night, The United Illuminating Company’s Light the Night team joined Irv Silverman at his Easton farm for a photo shoot designed to highlight the long-time partnership between his business and UI’s outdoor lighting program.

The photos from this shoot will soon appear in a series of Light the Night ads for a campaign titled “summer is the right time for outdoor lighting.” The campaign reminds customers that even though nights are shorter, the summer is an important time to think about their outdoor lighting needs. The focus of the campaign is to highlight the unique relationships that the Light the Night program has fostered between UI and area businesses.

“Mr. Silverman is a terrific example of a Light the Night success story,” said Roddy Diotalevi. “He approached us early on, looking for ways to increase his after-hours security. We started with just one project and since then we’ve been back to help light other areas of his business.”

Silverman’s Farm spreads out over a wide track of land in Easton, and the business includes a farm, a pick-your-own orchard, a petting zoo, and a bakery. Light The Night installed fixtures to illuminate the orchard entrance and animal pens, while also providing free lifetime maintenance and bulb replacement for the farm.
