How it works:

We perform a no-obligation energy use evaluation.
An energy-efficiency auditor will do a walk-though evaluation of your facility to review your existing lighting, refrigeration and heat, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.

Well recommend energy-saving actions that can be taken.
After your evaluation, we will recommend any possible energy saving activities, such as lighting and control changes that maintain or improve light levels and can save you 20 to 30% on your energy bill. We could recommend refrigeration controls that will reduce the run time for compressors, evaporator fans and door heaters on walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers, and shut-offs for stand alone vending machines when your business is closed. Customers are seeing up to a 35% reduction in refrigeration costs.

Installations performed by our approved contractors.
We have approved energy-efficiency professionals who will perform the installations so that they wont interrupt your business. They will abide by the strict guidelines of the program concerning materials, labor, licensing, and proper disposal of all old lamps and ballasts, to ensure you get the most out of your energy efficient changes.

The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund Will Help You Pay for the Work!
The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, which all UI and CL&P customers pay into through their utility bills, may pay between 25 to 50% of the cost of the installation.

You may qualify for interest-free financing on the balance.
Up to 36 months of interest-free financing is available to qualified customers for the balance of the cost. The monthly amount will appear as a line item on your regular energy bill; however, it is offset by your new monthly energy savings. That would make it a no-upfront cost, cash neutral decision to upgrade the appearance and efficiency of your business. After the loan is paid back, your bill is reduced by the energy savings amount.
