We Can Help Lower Your Energy Costs with Just One In-Home Visit

Do you ever wonder how much energy you lose through leaky doors, windows and ductwork? Do you suspect that your insulation isn’t making the grade? What about your major appliances? Wouldn’t it be great if you could have an expert give your home an energy analysis? You can. With support from the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, you can receive these valuable energy-efficiency services.

Please note: this program may have a waiting list and is subject to available funding.

The service may include:

  • A home energy assessment including a blower-door test which pinpoints critical drafts and air leaks. After they are found, the technician will professionally seal them during the visit.
  • A duct test to assess air leaks within the ductwork system. The technician will seal those significant leaks.
  • Hot water-saving measures including low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators will be installed.
  • Rebates up to $500 for qualifying central air conditioning systems and up to $300 for replacement of certain inefficient appliances with qualifying energy-efficient models.
  • Installation of energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs.
  • Incentives for insulation upgrades (gas and electric heated homes only)
  • A “kitchen table wrap-up” where the technician will review the work that was done in your home and tell you about additional resources that can help you save energy and money.

Effective immediately, there is a $75 fee for customers who heat with electricity or natural gas. For all other customers there is a $300 charge. However, for a limited time, with funding provided by the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management (OPM), the $300 charge is reduced to $75 for customers who heat with oil, propane or kerosene. The fee for all customers will be collected at the time of service. For more information on OPM programs available for oil, propane, or kerosene heat users, including a furnace "Clean, Test & Tune" service, please visit CTEnergyInfo.com.
