Who is eligible?

The UI Helps program is for customers that meet income guidelines such as:

-          Families or individuals having trouble paying bills

-          Seniors on a fixed income

-          Renters or owners

-          Customers receiving fuel assistance benefits

-          Customers who pay their own utility bills

What is the program?

UI Helps is a free in-home service to help lower your energy bills and make your home more comfortable.  Everyone's home is different and everyone uses energy in different ways.  The UI Helps energy expert who comes to your home will perform energy-saving services to make your home more energy efficient.  Our expert will also sit with you to explain all the steps and actions taken to make your home more energy efficient.  They will also talk with you about your energy habits and make suggestions to help you lower your energy usage, making your home more comfortable and reduce your energy costs.

Our energy expert will:

-          Inspect your home using the latest tools to find the most wasteful drafts and leaks in your home

-          Check to see if your home has enough insulation

-          Find out if you qualify for new energy-efficient appliances

-          Provide and install energy-efficient, long lasting compact fluorescent light bulbs

-          Provide and install water saving equipment such as faucet aerators and low-flow shower heads

Fill out and send us the application and we will contact you.  If you rent your home, make sure you have the landlord fill out the Landlord's Permission Section on your application.  Landlords must give permission for tenants in their buildings.
