ORANGE, CT – June 7, 2022 – AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR) formally welcomed U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-03) this past Monday afternoon. The House Appropriations Chair was greeted at the entrance of AVANGRID corporate headquarters located at 180 Marsh Hill Road in Orange, the southwest corner of the third Congressional District in Connecticut.

Rep. DeLauro’s greeting committee included employees from all levels of the company including the newly appointed AVANGRID CEO Pedro Azagra, CEO of AVANGRID’s Connecticut operating companies – the United Illuminating Company (UI), Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG) and Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG) – Frank Reynolds, AVANGRID Vice President of Government Affairs Puneet Verma and AVANGRID Independent Non-Executive Board Member Alan Solomont.

“We were so pleased to welcome Congresswoman DeLauro here at AVANGRID,” said AVANGRID CEO Pedro Azagra. “Like AVANGRID, the Congresswoman understands the importance of being bold in our vision and leadership so that we can always deliver for our customers and constituents. AVANGRID is proud to call the 3rd Congressional District home, especially with representation from someone who has proven to be an incredible leader in our Federal Government for decades.”

After a warm welcome, Rep. DeLauro engaged hundreds of AVANGRID employees in their large, open meeting space at corporate headquarters, known to employees as the Agora, both in-person and virtually. There she joined employees for lunch and took questions submitted by employees after providing remarks. During this riveting exchange, the Congresswoman covered a range of topics and provided insight into the legislative priorities for the remainder of this Congress.

“It was an honor to meet Congresswoman DeLauro, a true trailblazer in government, who time and time again has been there to fight for the rights of those who don’t have a voice, all while delivering for the hardworking families – the backbone – of our country,” added AVANGRID CEO, Pedro Azagra.

“As a leading sustainable energy company, transitioning America toward a clean and connected future, it is great to be here at Avangrid,” added Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro. “Avangrid’s commitment to clean energy technologies that reduce harm to our environment is commendable. As Chair of the House Appropriation Committee, I am so proud that we passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, a bipartisan, bicameral federal funding bill that makes an historic investment in our nation’s infrastructure, including our electric grid. With this funding, we are building the foundation for strong economic growth that creates good-paying American jobs. From the line workers working day to day in our neighborhoods to those making investments in the community through the Avangrid Foundation, Avangrid is driving innovation that builds on a model of inspiration for creating economic, social, and environmental value. For these reasons and many more, I am grateful to have Avangrid headquartered here in Orange,” she concluded.
