The ability to identify talented individuals with these skills is critical to ensuring the reliable electrical service to our 320,000 customers. One way that The United Illuminating Company has found to identify and assess the abilities and skills needed for certain jobs is through pre-employment testing.
Our pre-employment tests have been shown to be job-related, fair, objective and a consistent means to help identify qualified candidates for these jobs. The tests and associated procedures are administered consistently for all candidates. We partner with the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) for several of our employment tests.

Test Preparation
In taking any test, preparation is important for success. In order to assist you to prepare for some of our tests the Edison Electric Institute has developed sample tests that resemble the tests in structure and content. To find which test are available click on the link below.

Retest Policy
It is our policy to allow individuals who are not successful to retake the test when offered again provided that there has been a 30 day duration from the first attempt and the second. After that there must be a 90 day duration between testing sessions.
