ORANGE, Conn. — July 18, 2025 — Today, United Illuminating (UI), subsidiary of Avangrid, Inc., announced Christine Pariseau’s promotion to Senior Director of Electric Operations. With 17 years of increasing responsibility with the company, Pariseau has strong experience in the electrical power industry with practical working knowledge in managing a diverse workforce.
“This is a significant step forward in diversifying our workforce and elevating the exceptional women in our company,” said Kimberly Harriman, Deputy CEO at Avangrid. “Christine’s proven leadership experience suits her well for this new role, and I am excited to watch her continue to transform the team as we work together in service of our valued UI customers.”
“Leadership appointments such as Christine’s promotion demonstrate our commitment to investing in the right people,” said Frank Reynolds, President & CEO of UI. “With over 17 years at UI, Christine continues to be an inspiration to the team in her devotion to serving our customers and her community. I congratulate Christine on achieving this critical leadership role, and I look forward to continuing to work with her on delivering safe and reliable service to our customers.”
After joining UI as Lead Operations Engineer in 2008, Pariseau worked her way up to most recently serving as Senior Manager of Regional Operations. In this role, she supervised both union and management overhead, underground, and civil workforces, including contractors, for a total of around 175 people. Her promotion to Senior Director is effective immediately and will entail directing and managing distribution overhead, underground and civil line construction, operations engineering, customer field services, distribution engineering, project managers, and vegetation management.
“Christine consistently seeks opportunities to advance the team, streamline business processes, and inspire others,” said Charles Eves Jr., Vice President of Electric Operations at UI. “Her strong work ethic, problem solving, and adaptability have been crucial to the success of our team. She is deserving of this promotion due to her passion and dedication to UI and our customers, and I am confident she will continue to make a significant positive impact.”
In addition to continually improving union workforce management, Pariseau is an integral leader in the 10-week Trade Internship Program for rising high school seniors interested in electric and natural gas careers. Now in its third year, the program began in 2023 and offers a comprehensive, hands-on training experience both in the classroom and in the field. Pariseau aims to broaden students' perspectives and encourage them to pursue careers in the electric industry, which remains in high demand.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to step into the Senior Director role and continue to drive change in an industry I have been passionate about for decades,” said Pariseau. “I look forward to helping more people both within the company and in the communities we serve, as I constantly strive to have a positive influence on everyone I interact with. My mission is to inspire others, especially more women and girls, to pursue careers and leadership in the electric and natural gas industries.”
Pariseau earned a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Norwich University and a master’s in business administration in the global energy industry from University Pontificia Comillas in Madrid.
