UI, CNG and SCG Announce New Holiday eBill Incentive

ORANGE, CT — November 22, 2021 — Local Energy companies United Illuminating (UI), Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG) and Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG) have announced the launch of a new customer incentive to last throughout the 2021 Holiday Season. For every customer that signs up for the companies’ eBill service, the companies will donate $1.00, up to $5,000, to Connecticut Foodshare during the months of November and December. Connecticut Foodshare works closely with food retailers, farmers, financial donors and countless volunteers to collect and distribute food to those in need through a statewide network of 700 partner programs throughout the state.

“As local electric and natural gas companies, we care deeply about the people of Connecticut and supporting the communities we live and work in,” said Franklyn D. Reynolds, President and CEO of UIL Holdings, the companies’ parent. “With the launch of this eBill promotion, together with our customers, we can help make a difference in the lives of so many who may be struggling this holiday season.”

“Last year, Connecticut Foodshare distributed enough food to provide nearly 47 million meals through a network of 700 community-based hunger relief programs, including food pantries, community kitchens, and emergency shelters,” said Monica Obrebski, Senior Director of External Relations at Connecticut Foodshare. “This partnership with UI, CNG and SCG — and their customers — will help ensure that we are able to continue providing meals to those in need in the coming months, when we know folks may be struggling most.”

The companies’ eBill service is a user-friendly, paperless online payment tool. When a customer signs up for eBill, they will receive their bill online and can schedule automatic payments or can make their own payments each month. Customers can also view up to 13 months of previous eBills online.
