Requests For Funding
UI is a community-based business. Our success depends on the success of the people and businesses we serve.
The mission of UI's corporate contributions and sponsorships program supports our belief that our economic health is intrinsically linked to the economic health of the communities we serve. We view financial support to our community-based organizations as strategic investments designed to support collaboration, independence and positive measurable outcomes.
UI does not fund organizations which discriminate based upon age, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, family status, or sexual orientation.
We do not fund organizations not exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
In general, UI does not provide funding for individuals, scholarships, religious organizations, travel or transportation costs, operating deficits, political causes, candidate organizations or campaigns, medical research, endowments, capital campaigns, multi-year pledges, advertising, fundraising activities related to individual sponsorship (e.g., walk-a-thons), community fairs, parades or organizations outside of our service territory.
Organizations that meet these guidelines may submit written requests for funding. Requests for corporate contributions and sponsorships should include the following information:
- Name and address of the organization, telephone, email, contact person and a brief description of the organization
- A brief explanation of the program and project, program budget and amount of money requested and how it aligns with our company
- Estimated number of clients/recipients served by the program/project
- Copy of tax exempt letter from IRS or W-9 form
The team will review every proposal and contact you within 2 weeks to notify you of our decision by email, or to set up a site visit.
If you have questions regarding funding or the application process, please contact us at 203.499.5953 or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
